Bosch Logixx WAS Series Washing Machine Error Codes
There are a number of different version of the electronics used in Bosch Group made washing machines and washer dryers that are sold as Bosch, Siemens and Neff and most of them use the different fault or error codes when they have a problem or a spare part fails. This particular article relates especially to the range of Logixx washing machines that have an ENR number in the format of WAS****GB/** where the asterisks replaced by a number for each one.
The likes of Logixx 8 for example is only a Bosch Logixx series washing machine that has an 8kg rated load capacity, it is not a model number.
So far as we are aware these were used on models from all three Bosch owned brands, Bosch, Neff and Siemens. We have limited information as Bosch does not allow independent repairers access to technical support.
Before you start any investigation of the fault or even remove the lid of the washing machine or washer dryer please read and fully understand this article in full and pay particular attention to the safety and information notices at the bottom of this page as they contain extremely important information!

Bosch Logixx Washing Machine Spares
Please check that any Bosch washing machine spares recommended are suitable for use on your particular model and ENR code. If you are unsure about the suitability of any spare part please ask to ensure that you get the correct spares for your washing machine. Please, don’t guess or assume as spares can be altered on a production run with the same model number having several different alternative components used.
In order to ensure you get the correct spare part and, it is very, very easy to get the wrong one as there are a huge number of variants on these machines.

To do this you will need, from the rating plate either inside the washing machine door or from that back of it, the following information;
- The full ENR number, this will typically be in the format shown above of WAS****GB/** where the * represents one number
- The is also an FD number, while this is not always required it is better to have it
Not checking this can cost time and hassle, it’s worth the time to make sure you get the correct spare part. Bosch Logixx Washing Machine Fault Codes
These fault codes are written for washing machine repairers and not for the general public by Bosch and they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits.

We have had reported the addition of the following fault codes via the forums we presume for Bosch WAE washing machiens that have a digital display.
F16: Door lock problem

Bosch Washing Machine Fault Codes
The LEDs in these error codes represent the spin, rinse and then wash LED’s as you look at them, being either lit or not lit, they should not be flashing.
| Fault Code 1 | Door open after program has been started |
This error code may well not show up for a minute or so after you actually go to start the washing machine but the door can be closed and the program restarted.
If the error persists there may be a fault with the door locking mechanism or door latch.
| Fault Code 2 | Water intake has failed Error after more than 10 minutes |
Generally speaking this will be a failure of the water inlet valve or the water supply itself has been cut off somehow. This can be due to the water valve or supply as stated but it may also be worth checking the filters in the fill valves to ensure that they are clear. Many of the WOL range washing machines use this water inlet valve but there is a much cheaper alternative valve, this one, available as well.
The machine should halt after about five minutes and drain down any water in it but it can be restarted.
| Fault Code 3 | Heating time exceeds 105 minutes |
This would ordinarily indicate a fault with the water heating element or, certainly, the water heating circuit as the washing machine is indicating that it has failed to reach temperature. The wash heater used in a lot of these washing machines from this range is this one, but there is a cheaper alternative here.
The error can be caused by faulty wiring, the heater as stated, low voltage or even a calcified heater has been known to generate this error code.
| Fault Code 4 | Takes longer than 6 minutes to drain. |
Very often you will see this error if the filter is blocked or obstructed or the drain pump is jammed or faulty. Many WOL models use this drain pump although there is this drain pump which is cheaper and fits many models.
This error code can also be caused by the pressure sensor being blocked, a much discussed topic in the forums, by overfoaming from overdosing detergent or using a poor quality detergent as well as a pressure switch or sensor failure.
When this error occurs the program is aborted as it is considered to be a “fatal error” without any attempt to drain the washing machine.
| Fault Code 5 | NTC thermistor open circuit or short circuit |
Self explanatory really, either a faulty NTC (this is the NTC thermistor for many of these Bosch washing machines) or wiring. The washing machine will complete the program but will not heat.
| Fault Code 6 | Unexpected heating |
This is a bit of an odd error code and not a common one to see, it indicates that the washing machine has attempted to heat at a stage in the program where it should not.
| Fault Code 7 | Fault detected in motor or drive circuit |
Very often you will see this error if the carbon brushes (link for the Genuine Bosch Spares set, this is the link to the cheap set) or the motor fails.
This error code can be generated by no tacho reading from the motor (the electronics cannot see the tach generator of the motor), a triac fault or short circuit or a faulty reversing relay on the control board. The washing machine will try to start the motor but after several attempts the program will be aborted with this error code which is again consider to be a “fatal error”
